Microneedle RF

Microneedling radiofrequency (MNRF) is a new aesthetic treatment that combines the dual technologies of "microneedling" and "radiofrequency." It precisely delivers radiofrequency energy into the deep layers of the skin (the dermis) through fine needle tips, stimulating the contraction and regeneration of collagen and elastic fibers. Compared with traditional radiofrequency that uses large-area volumetric heating, microneedling radiofrequency can more precisely target specific treatment areas, conducting energy from the skin surface deep into the dermis to achieve effects such as skin tightening, lifting, and improvement of fine lines, acne scars, and enlarged pores. It is a multi-functional treatment that simultaneously improves skin structure and texture while also improving acne scars.

The Dual-Technology Principle of Microneedling Radiofrequency

  • Microneedling: Sterile, ultra-fine metal needles penetrate beneath the epidermis at a controllable depth, creating countless micro-channels on the epidermis, stimulating and activating the skin's self-rebuilding and repair mechanism.
  • Radiofrequency: Energy releases wireless radiofrequency (RF) energy through the needle tips, precisely performing a thermal coagulation reaction in the deep subcutaneous dermis, precisely treating and stimulating contraction of deep tissue.
  • Dual action: Physical micro-injury + deep thermal stimulation promotes collagen regeneration and tightening, with results superior to radiofrequency or microneedling alone.

The "Sofwave Microneedling Radiofrequency" offers depths of 0.5mm, 2.0mm, and 3.5mm, allowing the depth to be freely adjusted according to the treatment area. At the same time, the output frequency can be adjusted to 0.5MHz, 1.0MHz, or 02.0MHz, controlling whether the energy entering the skin is concentrated or diffused for heating. There is also a multi-stage pulse function that allows free control of when energy should be output or stopped, dispersing energy output and reducing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Advantages of Sofwave Microneedling Radiofrequency

  • Precise treatment: Energy acts directly on the dermis, safer and more accurate than traditional radiofrequency, with controllable working depth.
  • Suitable for diverse skin types: Depending on the treatment depth and skin concern, one can choose between 2 needle types, "non-insulated needles" or "insulated needles."
  • Versatility: Can improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pores, stretch marks, and obesity striae, with a lifting effect.
  • Short recovery period: Micro-wounds are small, with almost no obvious recovery period, and redness and swelling subside quickly.
  • Fast results: Results begin to appear around 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure.
  • Wide application: Suitable for the face, eye area, neck, and even body texture.

Features of Sofwave Microneedling Radiofrequency

  1. Freely control insulated and non-insulated needles, paired with three needle lengths penetrating the skin, so the depth at which energy acts on the skin is entirely up to you.
  2. Equipped with three controllable frequencies for concentrated or diffused energy, customizing the treatment.
  3. Multi-stage pulse function disperses energy output and reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Effects of Sofwave Microneedling Radiofrequency

  • Fading acne scars: Microneedling radiofrequency uses metal micro-needles to create tiny wounds, stimulating the fibroblasts within the skin tissue, helping to improve depressed (atrophic) acne scars while also improving the skin quality of the whole face.
  • Refining pores: Enlarged pores are also a type of skin depression problem; their causes include excessive sebum secretion, clogged pores, lack of moisture in the stratum corneum, and collagen loss. Through microneedling radiofrequency technology, pores can be effectively refined and skin texture improved.
  • Improving fine lines and wrinkles: For areas where fine lines and wrinkles easily appear, such as the forehead, eye area, sides of the nose, and around the corners of the mouth, after several microneedling radiofrequency treatments most can be gradually smoothed and faded (unless the lines are caused by severe sagging or drooping, which may be better suited to other aesthetic treatments).
  • Tightening the skin: Depending on the type of device, microneedling radiofrequency can release thermal energy of around 60 to 75°C, delivering energy to the deep subcutaneous layer to help sagging skin tissue contract, thereby achieving a tightening effect and restoring skin elasticity and firmness.

Who Is Suitable for Microneedling Radiofrequency

The following is provided for reference. However, the device actually suitable for you still needs to be determined after evaluation by a professional physician.

  1. Those seeking a short recovery period and hoping the treatment takes effect quickly.
  2. Those with a skin-management habit pursuing advanced care (those who have had radiofrequency or ultrasound lifting and want enhanced results; or those who do basic care regularly but feel the results are limited).
  3. Those with obvious acne scars or pore depressions on the face who want to improve skin texture.
  4. Those with skin laxity who want to firm the facial contours.
  5. Those troubled by fine lines / wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, neck, and other areas.
  6. Those troubled by pigmentation and uneven skin tone (such as melasma).
  7. Those with obesity striae / growth lines / stretch marks / cellulite.

Contraindications for Microneedling Radiofrequency

If any of the following apply, please proactively inform the physician during the consultation:

  • Any piercing or implant in the body, including a pacemaker or internal defibrillator.
  • The treatment area has had fillers injected or has received any aesthetic treatment (such as hyaluronic acid, collagen, or other injectables).
  • The skin is undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or cryotherapy.
  • The skin has special conditions such as keloids, abnormal healing, extreme dryness, or fragility.
  • Suffering from skin-related diseases (including sores, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, open wounds, etc.).
  • Suffering from special diseases such as heart disease, epilepsy, or schizophrenia.
  • Those taking anticoagulant medication.
  • Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Pre-Treatment Precautions for Microneedling Radiofrequency

  • Within 7 days before the procedure, avoid applying irritating skincare products such as acids and exfoliants (such as fruit acids, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, etc.).
  • Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours before the procedure.
  • Keep the face clean before the procedure, with no makeup and no lotion.
  • Remove all metal accessories before the procedure (such as necklaces, earrings, rings, watches, etc.).
  • Shave off the hair within the treatment area before the procedure; men should shave their beard the day before or on the day of treatment.

Post-Treatment Care for Microneedling Radiofrequency

  • When going outdoors after the procedure, apply proper sun protection using sunscreen of SPF30 or higher; it is recommended to wait 24 hours before applying makeup.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise or high-temperature environments (such as hot springs, saunas, etc.) within 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Suspend use of products containing alcohol, whitening, acid, or exfoliating ingredients within 1 week after the procedure.
  • If scabs appear within 1 week after the procedure, do not pick them off yourself; let them fall off naturally.
  • During the post-treatment recovery period, drink plenty of water and strengthen soothing and moisturizing care to help the skin metabolize and reduce redness and swelling.
